Cool Weather, But Forest Fire Threats.
Southern British Columbia may be experiencing cooler, damp weather but the Forest Service says the fire danger remains high to extreme in the region. It is once again warning people to be careful in the woods, pointing out that two-thirds of the fires started on the B.C. Day long weekend were caused by humans.
Meanwhile, the Mount McPherson fire just west of Revelstoke has been stirred up by the wind but remains 95 per cent contained, officials said yesterday. The Helmer Lake fire near Merritt is now considered 100 per cent contained. CP
