One lakh each for one crore Woman

One crore woman in the State will be extended loan of Rs.1 lakh each under the ‘Pavala vaddi’ scheme and by doing this the Government’s endeavour is to make woman self reliant, Chief Miniser Y.S Rajasekhara Reddy said on Wednesday. The TD Government had extended loans to woman at 12.50 per cent, but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had reduced the interest rate to 9 per cent, he said at a public meeting after inaugurating the Rajiv Gruha Kalpa housing colony of 1,248 apartments in Putlampalle here. However, the State Government was giving the loans at 3 per cent interest and bearing the remaining interest.

The Government proposed to disburse Rs.300 crores as loans to DWCRA groups in Kadapa district in the next two years. Interest burden on privite loan of Rs.1 crore was Rs.36 lakhss underthe ‘pavala Vaddi’ schema, the Chief Minister said.
Dr.Rajasekhara Reddy said he would distribute house site pattas to 5900 poor beneficiaries in kadapa city under Indiramma second phase on October 20. None in Kadapa district should remain homeless after an year, he said. Of the 90,000 houses being built in Indiramma villages and municipal wards in the district, 75,000 would be ready for occupation by next month end.
The Government was according priority to providing basic amenities to people in urban and rural areas, even as it executed irrigation projects on a war footing, Dr. Reddy said.

Distribution of house sites, construction of houses for poor, pensions and pavala vaddi loans were priorities to ensure welfare of the poor. Minister for Medical Education Galla Aruna Kumari also spoke. Kadapa MP Y.S Vivekananda Reddy said YSR strived for the welfare of poorer sections and was alloting house sites and constructing house sites and constructing houses, but some Opposition parties were agitating for political mileage. He urged Congress cadres to propagate the Government schemes to accrue benefit to the ruling party.
Two lakh houses were constructed in Kadapa district and 1.14 lakh pensions disbursed, Kadapa Mayor P.Ravindranath Reddy said.
