CricketAfter Dhoni and his daredevils lifted the World T20 Cup at Johannesburg on Tuesday evening, the bubly flowed like there was no tomorrow. The ecstatic cricketers, high on their victory, sang and partied all night.

The morning after, however, Dhoni ensured that normalcy was restored. ” The euphoria has not worn off, but things are normal. It’s another day,” the T2O captain told TOI from Johnnesburg, before asking “what’s the scene like back home?” When informed that people had gone crazy celebrating, he said, ” I spoke to my parents and friends, and friends, and I was told that at one of the famous squares there were over 50,000 jubilant people.

How was he feeling about the historic win? “It was the biggest India-Pakistan match ever simply because it was World Cup final and we won,” said Dhoni, who firmly believes in the adage that fortune favours the brave. When asked about the wild celebrations by his team , he smiled,”The players were given licence for the night. They deserved it.”

The 26 year old Bollywood buff was thrilled about the presence of Shah Rukh khan at the match.”When he came to great the team i told him I’d go to watch his movie ‘Om Shanti Om’,” he said. Other icons Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid also made his day when they sent their congrarulations to the team.” It feels great to get wishes from players one has idolise,” he said.” I hadn’t been talking many calls through the tournament, but now i am.”

The T20 captain spent most of his time on Wednesday speaking to family and for the airport in the afternoon. And did he get high? ” Cup jeetne ka nasha kuch kam hai jo aur kisi cheez ki zaroorat pade,” he laughed before hangingup. Cricket manager Lalchanded Rajput told TOI that BCCI chief sharad Pawar congratulated players over the phone.”He has asked all the players to land in Mumbai for afelicitation, and we all are wondering what the reception will be like.”
