Atlanta Airports remains the busiest
Hartsfield –Jackson International Airport, Atlanta got its second world’s busiest title as its 2007 flight reached 994,466 compare to its 2006 statistic of 976,447.

RBI to take a call on rates tomorrow
The Reserve Bank of India may have to take a tough call on whether to cut key rates or maintain the status quo when it reviews its monetary policy on Tuesday, with inflation being at afiveyear low even as excess liquidity problems persist.
RBI governor YV Reddy has a difficult role to perform as peaking interest rates have begun impacting the high growth momentum while the liquidity problem is being aggravated by surging forex inflows. While some bankers and economists expect a marginal cut in key short term rates, others feel the RBI might not do so in the face of inflation ary expections looming large due to surging global oil prices.

Telecom panel may oppose spectrum auction
The Telecom Commission, the policy making wing of the department of telecom is understood to have taken a final view on regulator Trai’s licensing reform proposals including the one that there be no cap on number of operations in acircle. Some of the proposals have been accepted, some tweaked and some have been rejected, sources said.
The commission is of the opinion that auction of additional spectrum is not a considerable idea at the moment, keeping in mind the affordability and low teledensity. The report of the commission will now be put up before communications minister A Raja at the earliest and depending on his approval, the new licensing policy may be unveiled at any moment. U.S. initiative to increase high-tech trade with India
The U.S. commerce Department has announced a new programme to facilitate and increase high technology trade with India while maintaining a secure American export control system. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez has established the Validated End-User (VEU) programme for India, which will make transactions “easier, faster and more reliable with customers that meet the security requirements of an inter-agency review process,” the Department of commerce said in a statement.
It will help U.S. exporters to “remain competitive in one of the fastest-growing markets for American companies,” the statement said. “As the world’s largest democracy and a strategic partner, India’s growth has created new opportunities for U.S. businesses and workers. VEU will enable U.S. companies to capitalise on those opportunities by eliminating individual licence requirement on exports of U.S. controlled items to certain customers in India with a track record of responsible use of such items,” the statement said.
