Kingmax Products are Compatible with Windows 7

Kingax announced all their product series of USB Flash Drive and DRAM products have passed Windows 7 compatibility test and are qualified to use the “Compatible with Windows” logo on the product packages. The latest Windows operating system was officially released on October 22, 2009.

The “Compatible with Windows 7” Logo is designed to help customers make better purchase decisions by identifying products that have passed Microsoft designed test for compatibility and reliability with Windows 7.

Windows 7 is intended to be a Windows operating system for use on personal computers and to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with the goal of being fully compatible with application and hardware that are compatible with its predecessor Windows Vista, the company said in a statement. Kingmax whole series of product line are certified with windows 7 standards.

HCL, Intel Launch First WiMax enabled Nettops

HCL Infosystems and chipmaker Intel announced the launch of the first of WiMax-enabled nettops and laptops in the country. The product will be commercially available within three months. Said Ajai Chowdhry, chairman and CEO, HCL Infosystems.

“The cost of the devices will be a bit higher than conventional laptops, as it includes the WiMax access device,” said Chowdhry. The laptops will be powered by intel’s Atom processor. WiMax allows mobile broadband access with speeds up to 10 Mbps. It is ideal for remote and rural areas where last mile connectivity has not yet reached. State-run Bharat sanchar Nigam Limited plans to start rolling out WiMax broadband services in about 1,000 blocks in the country by November 2009.

Video sharing law to take effect in China

Online video sharing policy will be implemented in China effective January 31. The rule limits online user to post or upload videos containing pornography and activism, especially those that could mar the country’s image like terrorism and national attacks. Under the rule, website owners that provide video sharing in China should secure a 3 year renewable permit to the government, violators will be banned from video sharing for five years.

Video uploading will be limited to state owned or controlled sites when the new rule takes effect. Reports however did not clear how different web hosting sites like Youtube will be affected.

Satyam Computer to make Malaysian centre a global hub

First phase of global delivery campus becomes operational

Satyam Computer Services announced on Monday that its 500-seat global solutions center (GSC) in Malaysia is fully operational. It is the first phase of the Satyam’s global delivery campus in Malaysia. The GSC was inaugurated by Malaysia’s Second Minister of Finance and YB Senator, Tan Sri Nor Mohmad Yakcop, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation YB, Dato’ Kong Cho Ha, and Satyam’s founder chairman, B. Ramalinga Raju. This was the largest facility of the company outside India.

The GSC had already engaged 300 IT engineers, mostly Malaysians, to support the company’s ASEAN, Middle Eastern, and American customers. Satyam’s progress with its GSC would accelerate consolidation of its ‘Global Delivery Model 2.0′, an integral part of the company’s strategy to provide a distributed delivery capability for global customers. Google is turning into a media company, instead of being merely a technology firm, by filling the voids that media corporations leave behind.

Publishers: Be careful what you wish for. Journalistic organisations and news agencies have complained that Google has benefited from their headlines (while I argue it is they who have who have benefited from Google’s links). So the Press Association, the Associated Press, Canadian Press, and Agence France-Presse just forced the search engine to license their content. Now, rather than linking to the wire services’ clients for their articles, Google News is displaying the agency reports in full on its site.
